BA LLB, B.Com LLB, LLM & Law Courses at NLU Delhi - Fees, Eligibility & Admission 2026
National Law University Delhi (NLU Delhi) is one of India's most prestigious law schools, established in 2008 by an Act of the Delhi Legislative Assembly. Notably, NLU Delhi conducts its own entrance exam AILET (All India Law Entrance Test) and does not participate in CLAT.
Undergraduate Programmes
NLU Delhi offers two 5-year integrated undergraduate law programmes: B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) with 120 seats and B.Com. LL.B. (Hons.). Both are admitted through AILET, the university's own national-level entrance exam conducted annually in December. The B.Com. LL.B. is a unique offering that combines commerce education with legal studies.
Postgraduate Programme
The 1-year LL.M. programme admits ~81 students through AILET PG. This is a full-time residential programme. NLU Delhi's regular LL.M. does not have formal specialization streams, though elective courses cover areas such as Criminal Law, IP Law, Commercial Law, and Environmental Law.
Doctoral Programme
NLU Delhi offers Ph.D. in Law and Ph.D. in Social Sciences (Sociology, Criminology, English, Economics). Admission is through AIET (All India Entrance Test) with 70% weightage for written test and 30% for viva voce. UGC-JRF holders are exempted from the entrance test. ~25 seats available for Law PhD.

AILET is conducted by NLU Delhi in December each year - it is separate from CLAT. Applications typically open in September-October. AIET for PG and PhD is conducted in May.
