AIIMS Delhi MBBS Admission Process: NEET-Based Selection and Eligibility Criteria

Admission to All India Institute of Medical Sciences New Delhi is conducted through a highly competitive and merit-based selection process. The primary entrance examination for undergraduate MBBS programs is the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG), administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA). AIIMS Delhi, as a premier government medical institution, follows the all-India merit system for allocating seats to aspiring medical students nationwide.

Candidates aspiring to pursue MBBS at AIIMS Delhi must meet specific eligibility criteria. Applicants must be Indian nationals and should have completed their 12th grade education with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as core subjects. The minimum qualifying marks and age requirements are set in accordance with NTA guidelines for NEET-UG. Candidates must secure a valid NEET-UG score within the prescribed cut-off percentile to be eligible for counselling and seat allocation.

The selection process at AIIMS Delhi involves counselling rounds conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) or relevant authorities. Admitted students pursue a comprehensive five-year MBBS curriculum covering preclinical, clinical, and para-clinical subjects with extensive clinical training. AIIMS Delhi also offers postgraduate medical programs through NEET-PG for candidates pursuing specialization in various medical disciplines. The institute maintains rigorous academic standards and provides world-class medical education recognized nationally and internationally.

Eligibility Criteria

MBBS Programme: Candidates must have passed 10+2 (with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as mandatory subjects) from a recognised board with a minimum aggregate score of 50% (45% for SC/ST/OBC categories). They must qualify NEET-UG and meet the merit-based cutoff score set by AIIMS New Delhi, which is highly competitive. Indian citizens and NRI candidates are eligible to apply.

MD/MS (Postgraduate) Programmes: Candidates must possess an MBBS degree recognised by the Medical Council of India and must qualify NEET-PG with the required cutoff score. A minimum period of internship completion is mandatory. These are merit-based programmes offered to Indian citizens and eligible NRI/OCI candidates.

B.Sc Nursing: Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (50% aggregate). Admission is based on NEET-UG score and merit ranking. Candidates must be between 17-35 years of age at the time of admission. BDS candidates must have passed 10+2 with relevant subjects and qualify NEET-UG with the required score.
