NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad, established in 1998, is one of India's top-ranked National Law Universities with NAAC A+ accreditation. The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes in law and management, with admission primarily through CLAT and other national-level entrance exams.

Undergraduate Programmes

NALSAR's flagship programme is the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.), a 5-year integrated law degree with 132 seats. Admission is through CLAT UG, with 75% All India seats (99) and 25% Telangana domicile seats (33). The university also offers a 3-year LLB through its own entrance test and a 5-year BBA + MBA (IPM) integrated management programme with 66 seats, admitted through NMET/IPMAT.

Postgraduate Programmes

The 1-year LL.M. programme admits ~66 students through CLAT PG. Students can specialize in Corporate & Commercial Law, Criminal Law & Justice, Constitutional Law, Intellectual Property Law, International Trade & Business Law, or Public Law & Legal Theory. NALSAR also offers a 2-year full-time MBA through its Department of Management Studies, with admission via CAT/XAT/GMAT scores.

Doctoral Programme

The Ph.D. programme is available across law and interdisciplinary disciplines including Constitutional Law, Corporate Law, Criminal Law, Environment Law, Intellectual Property, and Management. Admission is through NALSAR's entrance test followed by research proposal and interview. UGC-NET/JRF/SLET qualified candidates may be exempted from the written test.

Fee Structure & Scholarships

30% horizontal reservation for women across all programmes. SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD candidates receive fee concessions and reservation as per government policy.

Eligibility & Admission Process

CLAT is conducted annually by the Consortium of NLUs, typically in December. Results are declared within 2-3 weeks, followed by centralized counselling. NALSAR's IPM programme uses NMET conducted in June.
