Indian Institute of Technology Bombay concluded its 2025-26 campus placement season with an impressive 95% placement rate, with over 1,800 students receiving job offers across engineering, technology, finance, and consulting sectors. The placement drive saw participation from more than 400 recruiters, including marquee names such as Google, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, McKinsey & Company, and Tata Consultancy Services.The highest domestic package stood at ₹3.

IIT Bombay Launches Centre for Quantum Computing and Advanced Materials Research

Indian Institute of Technology Bombay officially inaugurated its new Centre for Quantum Computing and Advanced Materials Research (CQCAMR) at its Powai campus in Mumbai. IIT Bombay Retains Top Spot Among Engineering Institutes in NIRF Rankings 2025

Indian Institute of Technology Bombay has retained its position among the top three engineering institutions in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025, published by the Ministry of Education. The institute scored 82.14 out of 100, with particularly strong scores in research output, graduation outcomes, and outreach and inclusivity parameters.

Undergraduate Programmes (B.Tech, B.Arch): Candidates must have passed 12th standard with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects. Admission to B.Tech is through JEE Main and JEE Advanced with a valid rank. B.Arch candidates must qualify JEE Main (Architecture paper). Reserved category candidates may have relaxed eligibility criteria as per institutional and statutory norms.

Postgraduate Programmes (M.Tech, M.Sc, M.Arch): Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in the relevant engineering or science discipline from a recognized university. M.Tech admission requires a valid GATE score. M.Sc programmes accept qualified candidates based on entrance examination or merit. M.Arch requires a B.Arch degree and GATE qualification or equivalent assessment.

MBA Programme: Bachelor's degree holders from any discipline are eligible. Admission is based on performance in CAT (Common Admission Test) or GMAT, followed by Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). Relevant work experience is preferred for final selection.

Application Process

  1. 1 Complete 12th standard examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) for UG programmes, or earn a Bachelor's degree for PG programmes.
  2. 2 Qualify the relevant entrance examination: JEE Main for B.Tech/B.Arch, JEE Advanced for final selection, GATE for M.Tech, or CAT/GMAT for MBA.
  3. 3 Register for the counselling process through JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) for UG programmes or the respective PG counselling portal.
  4. 4 Participate in merit-based counselling and exercise course and college preferences according to rank and eligibility.
  5. 5 Receive seat allocation based on merit, category, and preference ranking.
  6. 6 Complete document verification and submit required certificates and academic credentials.
  7. 7 Pay admission fees and complete online registration to secure the seat.
