MBA Programs and Admission Criteria at XLRI Jamshedpur
XLRI – Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur, is one of India's oldest and most prestigious private business schools, founded in 1949. XLRI is particularly renowned for its Human Resource Management programme - the first of its kind in Asia. The institute offers PGDM (not MBA) programmes in Business Management (BM), Human Resource Management (HRM), and General Management (GM), along with a doctoral Fellow Programme in Management (FPM). Admission to the flagship PGDM programmes is exclusively through XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test).
PGDM Programmes
XLRI offers two flagship 2-year PGDM tracks: PGDM (BM) for Business Management and PGDM (HRM) for Human Resource Management, both admitted through XAT. The PGDM (GM) is a 15-month programme for experienced professionals (minimum 3 years managerial experience) admitted through XAT/GMAT/GRE. XLRI does NOT accept CAT, NMAT, or CMAT scores for any programme. XAT cutoff: ~95-96 percentile for BM, ~93-95 percentile for HRM.
Doctoral Programme
The Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) is a 4-year full-time residential doctoral programme. Admission through XSET or national exam scores (UGC NET, GATE, GMAT, GRE). FPM is effectively fully funded with a monthly stipend of ₹45,000-50,000 and hostel fee waiver.
