JEE Advanced Admissions and Eligibility for IIT Hyderabad

Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad admits students to its undergraduate and postgraduate programs through a competitive entrance examination process. For Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) programs, admission is exclusively through JEE Advanced, one of India's most competitive engineering entrance exams. Candidates must first qualify JEE Main and subsequently appear in JEE Advanced to be eligible for admission to IIT Hyderabad. The institute offers admission across multiple engineering disciplines including Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and others.

Eligibility criteria for IIT Hyderabad admission require candidates to have passed Class 12 (or equivalent) from a recognized board. Candidates appearing in their Class 12 final examination are also eligible to apply for JEE Advanced. There is no age limit for appearing in JEE Advanced, though applicants must have obtained a minimum of 75% marks in Class 12 (or be in the top 20 percentile of their respective board). For postgraduate programs including M.Tech and M.Sc, IIT Hyderabad conducts its own entrance examinations or accepts scores from GATE and other national-level entrance tests.

Prospective applicants should monitor the official IIT Hyderabad website and JEE portals for important application dates, examination schedules, and counseling procedures. The admission process typically involves multiple rounds of merit-based selection and counseling. Candidates are advised to stay updated on announcements regarding application deadlines, JEE Advanced exam dates, and seat allocation timelines. For detailed information about specific programs, admission requirements, and the current admissions calendar, candidates should visit the official IIT Hyderabad admissions portal.
