About JEE Advanced
JEE Advanced is the second stage of the Joint Entrance Examination and is the sole gateway for admission to the 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Conducted by one of the seven zonal IITs on a rotational basis, it is widely regarded as one of the toughest entrance examinations in the world.
The exam consists of two papers (Paper 1 and Paper 2), both of which are mandatory. Each paper is of 3 hours duration and tests candidates on Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The question types include MCQs with single correct answer, MCQs with multiple correct answers, numerical answer type, and matching type questions.
Only the top 2,50,000 candidates who qualify JEE Main are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced. A candidate can attempt JEE Advanced a maximum of two times in two consecutive years.

JEE Advanced Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must be among the top 2,50,000 qualifiers of JEE Main. They should have passed Class 12 or equivalent in the current or previous year. Candidates must not have been admitted to any IIT previously. Maximum two attempts in consecutive years are allowed. Age limit: Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 2002 (relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST/PwD).
JEE Advanced Exam Pattern
Two papers of 3 hours each. Both papers have questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Various question types including single correct MCQ, multiple correct MCQ, numerical value, and matching list questions.
